These were some shots from the AzLA conference from April 2006. The shots include Linda Lanctot and Donna Hopkins
enjoying conference; the gift baskets that were raffled off as door prizes
(the largest one was created by our own Terry Morris); Jana Baumersbach,
emcee for the conference; Gary J Sprague and his 'partner', Dusty, who
appeared inside the building. Dusty tried to steal Jana's breakfast while
Gary sang songs for our entertainment.

Ken Brooks, who appeared at our meeting Jan 9, 2006.
What an interesting life he has
led! He worked in the radiobroadcast industry, the infancy of the television
industry, met some famous people, and traveled to all seven continents. He
told just a few stories of the places he has seen and people he met. He
currently is a travel correspondent for the Payson Roundup and is an
afternoon broadcaster for KMOG radio.

Library's volunteer dinner. The first photo is of guests
at the tables decorated by Terry Morris. The second one is Barb Brenke at
the food line. We enjoyed the potluck meal very much. Everyone outdid
themselves creating beautiful and tasty dishes. Terry and her staff
provided the turkey and ham main courses. Each volunteer received a small
gift and a card signed by all the library employees. After lunch, special
door prizes were issued. It was a great day for us all.

stories. She has written a number of books and has three recordings of
western classics and original songs and poems. Her books and recordings were

Nan Pyle Award 2007
The Library Friends of Payson Bookstore is
proud to announce that former manager, Mary Lou Lopez-Miller, and
assistant manager, Jeanne Schoonover, have received the Nan Pyle
Distinguished Service Award. This award is presented by The Library
Friends of Payson to volunteers who have exhibited a significant
history of service to the library. Certainly, both of these women
richly deserve this honor.
