Attention Library Friends:

Holidays fall on our regular meeting dates in January and February; therefore, we will meet on the fourth Mondays of these two months. Please mark your calendars for LFOP meetings on January 23 and February 27. More information to follow!

MISSION: The Library Friends of Payson, Inc., is a private, nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide financial and community support to the Payson Public Library. We believe that public libraries comprise an integral aspect of community identity and development, and we support endeavors that encourage literacy and free inquiry within the individual, the family, and society.

HISTORY: Like many of Rim Country's finest service organizations, "The Library Friends" were established as a 'grassroots' effort to support the growing Payson Public Library.

We have evolved from just providing books -- to purchasing computers and other equipment & funding Public Library programs that would not otherwise be covered in its Town and County budget.

SERVICES WE PROVIDE: We offer a Free Library Services for Homebound Individuals - through our "Library Buddy Program." We also purchase books and supplies for Payson Public Library.

PROJECTS WE SPONSOR: We are an Annual Rim Country Regional Chamber of Commerce Business Showcase participant.

We maintain the LFOP bookstore (a used bookstore in the Payson Public Library). Staffing is done entirely by volunteers.

In recognition of Arizona’s Centennial Celebration the Library Friends of Payson Bookstore and Internet Sales team are offering a selection of specially priced, collectible books and pamphlets highlighting Arizona and Arizona history. These items will range in price from $1.00 to $20.00 and will only be available during February. This is a not to be missed opportunity for collectors and Arizona history buffs.

In February our thoughts turn to romance. In honor of Valentine’s Day, the Bookstore is featuring paperback romance novels at the incredibly low price of 15 for $1.00. These will be drawn from a recently received, very large donation of paperback romances that are in like new condition. Hurry in for the best selection.

Bookstore stock has never been better and new items are added daily. Therefore, the wise patron stops by often. Bookstore volunteers are always happy to help you. Every penny spent in the Bookstore goes directly to the Payson Library for purchase of new materials. The LFOP Bookstore is located to the right of the circulation desk just inside the Payson Public Library, 328 N. McLane Road.
