Another year has quickly passed and it’s time to think of escaping the hot kitchen and eating at Chili’s! Starting next week on Wednesday, May 3, Chili’s in Payson will give 15% of your bill to the Library Friends if you eat there anytime from opening to closing. This Give-Back day will occur on the first Wednesday of each month through October. All you have to do is present the attached coupon to your server (one coupon per bill, so copy what you need).
Make life easy for yourself and at the same time help out the library. Right now, while you’re thinking about it, why not mark your calendar so you’ll remember the Give Back days at Chili’s: May 3, June 7, July 5, August 2, September 6 and October 4.
See you at Chili’s on May 3!
LFOP Meeting May 15, 2017
On Monday, May 15, 2017, the Library Friends of Payson are pleased to have Evangeline Parsons-Yazzie from the AZ Humanities Council present a program on Indian boarding schools, “Boarded Up: Social and Historical Interpretations of the American Indian Boarding School Era.” This presentation will impart a social interpretation of how life among Indian Nations began to change due to the plight American Indian people were forced into in the name of education. Children were placed in a boarding school and not allowed to speak their language or practice their culture. This presentation is from an American Indian perspective.
